Massmutual Life Insurance Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

As October is official Breast Cancer Awareness month, MassMutual Life Insurance, a provider of term life insurance, along with many other forms of insurance, has sent agents out to conduct "Pearls of Wisdom" education financial seminars for women all over the country. The seminars bring awareness to the importance of financial preparedness and steps that can be can taken to protect their families and their futures in the face of unexpected challenges - including breast cancer. To show the company's dedication to the cause, each time an agent completes a successful seminar it donates $1,000 dollars to local American Cancer chapters.
Not only does MassMutual provide focus on this during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but makes it a point to run programs raising money for breast cancer research and education all year round. Its goal for the year is to contribute more than $100,000 to the breast cancer cause. To reach this goal, it conducts a number of fundraisers and awareness groups throughout the year. It has put on the Trek Women Triathlon, and supports a breakfast for Team Survivors, a group supporting women in all stages of breast cancer, from diagnoses to recovery.
"This cause makes a difference in the lives of women every day, which is why I think so many of my MassMutual colleagues support it so strongly," said Kim Michel, general agent of the Michel Financial Group, a MassMutual general agency in California. "We're in the business of helping people plan for life's challenges, and this is yet another way we can accomplish that goal."
Long-term, chronic illness like breast cancer can often cause financial problems for families. In providing various forms of life insurance for patients, including term life insurance, MassMutual aids families affected by illness in staying afloat during what may be a tough financial time.
